3° AMERICAN CIRCUSFEST: All the artists
The 3rd edition of the AMERICAN CIRCUSFEST will be held under the Circus Vazquez big top from 26 to 27 March at Riders Field in Frisco, Texas (USA).
Here is the complete list of artists who will take part in the competition:
ISADORA NAVARRO
Silks
Isadora is a Chilean performer who specializes in silks. She has performed internationally in Europe and Latin America and was a semi-finalist in the popular TV show “Got Talent Chile”. She is the current Latin America “Elevate Aerial” silks champion.
DUO EBEN-EZER
Acrobatic Adagio
The acrobatic adagio duet Eben-Ezer are graduate of Cuba’s National Circus School. Their act mixes contemporary dance and ballet with acrobatics, which helps them take their technique emotionally to the next level.
EZRA VELDMAN
Diabolo
Ezra Veldman hails from The Netherlands and began training in diabolo juggling at age seven. Mostly self-taught, he started his international circus career at age fifteen, and has since been featured in circuses and dinner and variety shows all over Europe.
ALONA ZHURAVEL
Hand Balancer
Alona Zhuravel comes from a well-known Russian circus family and grew up in Germany, where she was coached by her parents. She has worked extensively in circus and variety all over Europe and was featured and toured with Cirque du Soleil’s productions of “Varekai” and “Joya”.
BINGO TROUPE
Founded in 1996 by Irina German in Kiev, this troupe of variety and circus artists from Ukraine has appeared with great success in major circuses and variety theaters all over the world, including Circus Roncalli in Germany, Circus Knie in Switzerland, the Cirque d’Hiver-Bouglione in Paris, Kirrwiller’s Royal Palace in France, and Circus Vazquez in the United States. They have also participated in the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo, where they won a Bronze Clown award in 2020.
DUO VANEGAS
Wheel of Wonder
Hailing from a Columbian circus family they represent here, Ricardo and Alejandro Vanegas are third and fourth generation performers. They started doing their spectacular “Wheel of Wonder” act at ages 14 and 16 respectively – Ricardo controlling the wheel and Alejandro performing his dangerous stunts atop of it.
LIAZEED ANGELS
Acrobats
Led by former tightrope artist Zaida Liazeed and Olympian Gold-Medal gymnast Natalia Kapitonova, this multi-national troupe mixes amazing acrobatic skills and high-level choreography. It is composed of Chintia Ruiz, Louise Sánchez, Anastasiia Kureeva, and Yeseth Autillo – all former competitive gymnasts with rich pedigrees.
JOSÉ ALBERTO VÁZQUEZ
Juggler
Hailing from Mexico City, and a professional juggler since the tender age of 13, José began his juggling training at age 10 with unconventional objects found in his grandmother’s house. His remarkable talent won him awards in international festivals in Russia, China, and Monte Carlo.
ALEX ACERO
Clown
Born in Colombia and raised in Brazil, Alex Acero settled in the United States 23 years ago. His passion for comedy and performance was ingrained in him from a very young age, and he has brought laughter in such shows as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, Circus Vargas, Lone Star Circus, Cirque Italia, Carson & Barnes, among many others.
SEBASTIAN VIDELA (“PACUSITO”)
Clown
A fifth-generation circus artist, Sebastian Videla, better known as Pacusito, comes from a family of Argentinean clowns. Despite his young age (he is only 19 years old), he has already a rich international career and has participated in several international circus festivals. Sebastian is the third artist to perform as “Pacusito,” carrying a name that is part of his family’s legacy.
DEDE LARIBLE
Juggler
Circus has been implanted in St. Petersburg, Florida-native Dede Larible’s DNA for eight generations. The son of a world-renowned clown and a trapeze artist mother, he has traveled the globe with his family, and truly never considered anything but performing in the circus. Juggling came easily and quickly to him, and intense training and practice have made him one of the best jugglers of his generation. He is presently touring in the U.S. with Venardos Circus.
MANNY & ILENAY ACOSTA
Aerial Perch
A husband-and-wife duo from Cuba, Manny & Ilenay Acosta graduated from the National Circus School in Havana. Through family connections, they were able to come to the U.S. with a contract for the Carson & Barnes Circus. They and their two children eventually made the U.S. their home and became American citizens. They are presently performing their beautiful and breathtaking aerial perch act at Venardos Circus.
HERMANOS SEGURA
Risley Act
Leandro (Argentina) and Luciano (Mexico) are sixth-generation circus performers. They debuted at an early age in Luján Segura’s Nexus acrobatic troupe, and they were respectively 14 and 9 when they began working on their Risley act in 2017. Since then, they have performed extensively in Latin America and the U.S., and have participated in international circus festivals in Argentina, Chile, Russia, and Spain.
ROMAN TOMANOV
Arial Straps
Roman Tomanov was born in Moscow into a circus family and began performing at the tender age of five, coached by his father, who settled in the U.S. in 1992. In his early teens, Roman had already gathered an impressive collection of awards in major international circus festivals, including a Silver Clown at the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo. For the past ten years, he has been touring the world with Cirque du Soleil’s production of “Kurios.”
JAN & CAROLINA VAZQUEZ
Rola-Bola
Hailing from Mexico, Jan and Carolina Vazquez are 5th generation of the Vazquez circus family. From an early age, they have been involved in all aspects of circus life, from performing to production and administrative duties! Highly versatile artists, they have performed extensively all over the world – most recently in the prestigious Festival Internacional del Circ – Elefant d’Or in Girona, Spain.
DUO DESIRE
Aerial Straps
Denis Bazhenov was born in Crimea; Jilliana Sophia Bazhenova, his wife, was born in Los Angeles. Both solo performers originally, they met in Las Vegas, and decided to create an aerial straps act, Duo Desire, to work together. Duo Desire focuses on adrenaline and passion to give heart-stopping moments to their audiences.
